Week 52

Well we finally made it!! It’s week 52 and we’re late LOL! The theme this week is celebrate. You can interpret this as you like, as Sat was Christmas you might wish to do Christmas, or as this is the last week of the year maybe a New Year ATC would be your choice.

Week 40 – Add an Inchie (or 2) to your ATC

spring has sprung

This week we are adding one (or more) inchies to  your ATC. Inchies, for anyone who may not know, are miniature  “works of art” one inch x 1 inch square, it can be as simple or as complicated as you feel confident in doing. A simple stamping, or a tiny image on some patterned paper, or whatever you are comfortable doing.

My ATC has a spring theme, as per my latest embossing folder (from Crafty Concepts), which has been tinted with Tim Holtz distressing inks in various colours. The words “Spring has Sprung” are down one side. The inchie is a Bee, with the words “Buzz” and “Busy” on it. All edges have been inked with Timber Brown Stazon.

Week 38 - Shabby Chic

We only have 14 weeks of this weekly ATC Challenge left to go.... so if you want to catch up, you'll have to get a wriggle on :)
This week the theme is Shabby Chic.
Both Elizabeth & I like Shabby Chic, so I hope you do too.
Here is my ATC..... I have used a page from an old book as the background, image of a woman, a Tim Holtz Fragment with a piece of 7 Gypsies music paper behind it, brown threads, a couple of beads, some ribbon and four small paper flowers sprayed with Glimmer Mist. The word Mesmerise also sprayed with Glimmer Mist finishes my offering.

Week 34- Time

This weeks theme is time, sorry it’s late. (we ran out of time? LOL).

  Timeless
Here is mum’s ATC'. I love the background it’s just lovely. It’s collaged dictionary paper that has used the baking paper technique. She has added a clock that has been fussy cut and several old watch parts.
My last two cards will get made asap, I’ve been up in Brissy for the last week.
Can’t wait to see what you girls make!

Week 31 - Pick a technique new to you

This week it's time to try a new technique such as the baking paper technique, soot technique, crayons, beeswax ... something that's new to you and you've always wanted to try!

bamboo bamboo (2)
I(De) have tried the soot technique, it's a very simple technique, and I am quite pleased with the results. The back of my ATC has the reverse soot technique as a background. I think it would be a handy thing to do if making cards .... quick and easy :)
Here are some links to learn more about that technique.

This week I have done the Inclusion Technique. It’s sort of like making your own handmade paper, lol but with out the fuss. It’s a little hard to see in the image, but looks great in RL. I’ve used leaves, prima flowers, dictionary pages, a little reinker here and there, some Pearl Ex and some metalic rubons (like rub and  buff)
Here is a link to learn more about the technique.

Week 30 – Adding Wings

Here we are at week 30 wow! This weeks theme is wings (funny as it corresponds with the topic Marla has just set today for our next inchie swap), this challenge though is to ADD WINGS to something, ie human, cat, dog etc.

Week30 - Week30 - back
here is mum’s ATC, she’s stamped the background and also the cat. Fussy cut him out and made a crown and some wings for it. The butterfly was a embellishment, the border strip is cut from paper.
Love this ATC! Well done.

CIMG0094
Here is my ATC. I used an impress-abilities and sponged distressing ink over it. I then stamped the wing in black distressing ink and added perfect pearls on it. I stamped out the girl and cut her out. I ripped a little dictionary paper and stamped the word ‘style’ at the top.
Thanks for looking :o)

WEEK 28 Swirls/flourishes and butterflies

This week we would love to see lots of swirls/flourishes and butterflies. You can do lots of stamping, printing, stickers, what ever takes your fancy :o)

Week28 - Week28 - back

Here is mum’s ATC here is what she had to say about her card

White cardstock stamped (with our fave stamp LOL), then sprayed with Coffee Shop Glimmer Mist. light brown cardstock stamped with butterfly (Stamp-It stamp). A white flower altered with Gel Pens and a red bling for the centre. A simple card

   Lovely Job Mum!

CIMG9999
Here is my ATC. I stamped the butterflies first and then stamped a copy on some scrap paper as to make masks. I cut them out and put removable tape on them and placed them on the ATC. I then stamped over this with my flourish/text stamp. I also distressed and grunged up the edges a bit while the mask was on. I peeled the masks off and sprayed the whole ATC with home made pearl glimmer mist. I tamped the ‘Imagination’ on a piece of card and while the ink was wet I applied Perfect Pearls to it to make the word glimmer. (Click to see it larger and in better detail!!)

Thanks for looking, can’t wait to see what is created :)

Magical Fairy

Here is Elizabeth's week 27 magical being - a dainty little fairy amongst the flowers, with her fairy castle behind her. Elizabeth has used one of the new Tim Holtz Alterations "On the Edge" dies to make the edging for her ATC, and it looks to me like she has used the baking paper technique to colour the paper. Nice!

Week 27 - Magical beings

Firstly apologies for running late posting this week's Weekly ATC Diary topic.
Well we are now into the second half of our year..... are you enjoying making ATCs just for yourself? I hope so :)
This week is all about magical beings from fairies, elves, wizards to unicorns.... whatever magical being takes your fancy.
I have used a very young wizard with his crystal ball. I used some Daisy D's scrap paper for the background, then fussy cut a picture of my young wizard. I drew his hat on some black bazzill cardstock and used white pen to make the spots. The dragon was printed out and punched using a round punch as was the acetate covering it, making the magic ball. I burnt the edges of the sign. Some blue glitter stickers (dots) from Making Memories embellished the base.

Week 26 – Recycling time!

Wowo! Here we are at the 1/2 way mark. Hard to believe how fast this year is going. Our theme this week is recycling. You have to put some ‘trash’ on your ATC.. Clean trash of course lol. You can use just one element or you can make your whole card from recycled goods.

2626 back
Here is mum’s ATC, she has weaved strips of newspaper and although hard to see she has also glimmer misted them. Using the patterned cardboard from an old tissue box mum punched out the flowers with a flower punch. she also hand cut the butterfly from the same box. Well recycled mum!

week 26 recycle
Here is my ATC. I used some advertising material from Spotlight as my base, I went around that with white paint to make it ‘frosty’ on the cup cake at the bag I added some kindyglitz to the balls that were there. From a coffee box I cut out a ‘chunk’ that had people drinking coffee and folded it over for my ‘menu’ and then from the top of the coffee box I cut out the words “cafe” and “menu” to help hold down the folded menu.

This, being the 26th week, is the week the stamps are up on offer. Winner will be decided out of those who have done the most/26 challenges. So far we have Marg on target, and a couple following close behind. Can they catch up? hehe, stay tuned to find out ;)
Good luck with this challenge!

Week 25 - A Woman in your life

Week 25 is here already! Next week we will be half way through the year.... hasn't that gone quickly?
This week's ATC is to celebrate a woman in your life (if you wanted to, you could even do one of yourself LOL)
My card is of a little woman who came into my life a number of years ago now.... and she's still there, although bigger/older! :)
It is a simple card with the image being fussy cut and mounted in a little pink cardstock. A spotted butterfly with Kindyglitz (Stickles) spots, some flowers in one corner, a punched flower with glaze pen spots in the centre in each of the other corners, and a small title strip under the image, all mounted on a piece of Heidi Grace paper, is about it!

Week 24 - Celebrate winter

We are into my favorite time of the year, so this week let's celebrate winter!
Think warm clothes, mugs of warm drinks, winter colours, cheery fires.
My ATC this week is simply a wintery background with a fussy cut of some children in a sled. I have edged it with Kindyglitz (Stickles). I have also put the words "Winter Wonderland" down the side of the ATC.

Celebrate Winter

Here is my ATC for winter. I’ve used the cuttlebug on the top half of the card, stamped the bottom section with a Penny Black stamp and drawn a few snow ‘flakes’. I coloured in the scarf with coloured pencils, the cuttlebugging with silver gel pen and the ice and flakes with a white pen.

Week 23 – Text

This weeks topic is Text, you must have text on your ATC, this might be dictionary paper, a stamp, patterned paper, handwriting, what ever you like :)
Week23Here is mother’s lovely ATC, the girl, flower, fauna and text are all part of the one stamp, but the harlequin is a different stamp. I am loving that little clock too!
Week 23 Text
Here is my ATC, I’ve kept it fairly basic. I stamped the floral in orange on spotted paper. I stamped the saying in black. I altered a flower by spraying it pink and stamping text on it. Added some pearl ribbon to it and also a pearl. Added pearl ex to the whole card and affixed it with hair spray.

Week 21 - Red, Blue and Green

This week it is a colour challenge. You need to use the colours blue, red and green to make your ATC, the theme is of your choosing.
First we have Elizabeth's card. She has used Tim Holtz's Alterations - Tattered Florals to cut the flowers. One flower is green with blue centre topped with a red brad, and the other is reversed with a green centre with a blue background flower, and a smaller brad in the middle. Red striped paper runs down the left border and the background is a stamped harlequin pattern

My card has a pale blue card-stock background. I stamped and fussy cut the rose and the stem/leaves. I used twinkling H2O's for the leaves, and water colour pencil for the rose. Tiny punched flowers in the corners, with stickles centres, glaze pen squiggled edges, "Always" and "Love" stamped/glazed on tiny tags completed my efforts.

Week 20 - Add some Metal

Firstly I am so sorry for the delay in posting, but things have been topsy turvy this week. Elizabeth is still away interstate, where she and Mick went for the funeral. She wont be posting her ATC till after Sunday.
On with this week's topic - "Add some metal to your ATC"
My effort is 2 metal flowers tinted with some alcohol ink (I used a Gel pen for the stems and leaf), and the strip is metal tape place over some grungeboard shapes on cardboard and it was also tinted with alcohol inks.
This is a technique that was used by Tim Holtz in his Christmas tags last year.

Week 19 – Page maps no 2

We’re late.. Again! Eh! Where are these days flying off to in such a hurry?

This week is a page maps challenge. You can make an ATC that looks like it, have a tag on the ATC that is like the map.. It’s all up to you. Flip it if you want to :)

Page mapweek19a
Here is mum’s. She’s used a distressed stamp with distressing ink. She has added some ribbon and 4 different flowers. One of her flowers has been ‘altered’ with a little kindy glitz and a rain drop. The other three have bling in the centre.
Well done mum!

Week 18 – add a crown

This week you must include a crown on your ATC.

This week I’m on time, but mum has run behind.. LOL!

Add a crown or 2
Here is my ATC.I stamped on the blue ATC a Tim Holz background stamp. Stamped and cut out that boy stamp and added him to the ATC. I’ve cut the centre out of the green ATC, stamped the left over area and added distressing embossing powder to it. Added a little bling to my crown for good measure ;)

Week 17 - A Colour Challenge

Orange, yellow and black
OK people, sorry this is getting posted late, but the secretary (it's so hard to get good help these days! LOL) has gone to a 12 hour crop, so it's been left to me to post this week's challenge. Do I know what I'm doing you ask?...... er,er, um
As you can see the the topic this week is a colour challenge of orange yellow and black, any theme you like, but only use those colours. My ATC looks as if the paper background has white in the curves near the roof, however that's just my photography, it's really a pale orange.
Redcrystal will post hers this evening hopefully!

Week 16 – Music

This weeks theme is Music. You can have some music on your ATC, maybe just an instrument, what ever you like, let your imagination go wild!!

Week 16Week 16 back
Here’s mum’s ATC. She’s fussy cut the stamped lady and coloured her in with markers. Her background is a printed out music sheet and patterned paper. She’s also stamped the ‘music of the soul’ and added that on top.

  baby Music
Here’s my ATC. I’ve printed and cut out the child on the seat, coloured it in using a paint brush and my distress inkpads. I cuttle bugged the bird on some paper and stamped the music sheet on my ATC base. I stamped the ‘listen’ on some scrap PP and added a little distress stickles to my seat and the bird.
Thanks for stopping by!!
